Itinerary

Day 1. New Delhi/Mumbai – Raipur – Kawardha
On arrival at Raipur airport, drive to Kawardha (135 km/2 hrs). Check in to the hotel. Rest of the day free for leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (Can extend this tour by staying overnight in Delhi or Mumbai and flying to Raipur the next day).

Day 2. Kawardha – Bhoramdeo – Kawardha
After breakfast, proceed for the picturesque Satpura Maikal hills, where the famous Boramdeo temple is located. It is well known for its breathtaking erotic carvings on the rock. All carvings were hand done in the 11th Century AD. Later in the day take your time to explore the structures of Cherki Mahal and Madwa Mahal followed by the tribal haat (a weekly market) or the tribal village. Return to hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3. Kawardha – Achanakmar Tiger Reserve
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to the Achanakmar Tiger Reserve by road (200 km/4 hrs). Find yourself exploring the countryside and experiencing village lifestyle and culture. On arrival check into the resort which has a blend of modern amenities with a pure, ethnic village-styled setting and architecture. Afternoon free to relax at the peaceful resort. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 4. Achanakmar – Amarkantak – Achanakmar
Wake up early in the morning and trek in to the surrounding jungles and explore the “Baiga” tribal villages or you also have an option to enjoy a game drive inside the Achanakmar tiger reserve. After breakfast at the resort proceed for a full day excursion to the holy city of Amarkantak. Picnic lunch. Return to the resort in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 5. Achanakmar – Barnawapara
After breakfast proceed to Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary. Check in to your resort and either take a game safari to Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary or else just relax and enjoy a nature walk around the resort. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort at Barnawapara.

Day 6. Barnawapara – Sirpur – Barnawapara
Early morning safari at Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary. The biodiversity of the park will be a great photography experience. Return to the resort for breakfast then proceed with a full day sightseeing excursion to Sirpur.
One of the most important archaeological sites in Central India where you will see history being discovered as the excavations are still in progress. Visit Lakshamana Temple which is known for its longest survival being a brick made temple in India. Return to the resort in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

Day 7. Barnawapara – Jagdalpur
After breakfast drive to Jagdalpur. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Time to relax before your trip to Chitrakote waterfalls. Explore the thunderous waterfall which is the only horse shoe shaped waterfall in India and looks almost like Niagara Falls. Later in the evening return back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Jagdalpur.

Day 8. Jagdalpur – Kanger Valley National Park – Jagdalpur
An early breakfast before leaving for the Kanger Valley National Park (40 km/1 hr). En route visit the Bastar Hill Myna at the Forest School at Jagdalpur. Explore the breathtaking Kutumsar caves which have natural stalactite and stalagmite formations. Then visit the refreshing seven tier Teerathgarh waterfalls. Enjoy your packed picnic lunch at the waterfall. Return to the hotel. In the evening visit the Danteshwari Devi temple at the Bastar Palace and explore the local markets of Jagdalpur on foot. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Jagdalpur.

Day 9. Jagdalpur – Raipur
Visit the handicrafts centre at Kondagaon on the way to Raipur airport(300km/5 hrs). Arrive at airport at appropriate time for a flight to New Delhi or Mumbai.
