Bharatpur is world-famous for its bird sanctuary called Keoladeo Ghana National
Park. It is situated 55 km from Agra.

Bagh that covers 12 acres of large gardens is around 200 year-old. A restaurant,

Accommodation : The 21 rooms in the hotel are
located in 3 different residential complexes. Champa, Mogra and Gulab bhavans;
the three residential complexes house the spacious rooms with other complementary
services such as laundry and wake-up call. Spacious bathrooms, luxurious fabrics,
fine furnishings and the in-room amenities make the tourists relax after a day
of sightseeing and bird watching.
Dining :
The restaurant Gulmohar in the hotel specializes in the wonderful vegetarian cuisine
of the Braj region. The café in the Resort Bagh offers a wide range of revitalizing
brews and scrumptious snacks. Mahua is the outdoor bar, which serves an assortment
of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with light snacks with live music. Here
one gets to enjoy the best of food and relish the food with the ambience around.
Recreation : At Sheesham, the recreational complex
that contains gym, spa and swimming pool; you can have an Ayurvedic Massage or
a dip or a proper workout at the fully - equipped gym. The guests can also stroll
quietly in the garden. The Resort Bagh's extensive library in Semal has a classic
collection of the books of natural history and ornithology. The travelers can
also enjoy the festivals and performances celebrated in the Resort Bagh. A selected
collection of the art and craft items is available at the gift shop in Mayur complex.

With over fifty species of flora, including fruiting trees and flowering plants
which attract birds, small animals and insects, guests can enjoy quiet walks in
the garden and commune with nature. The handsome buildings made in local stones
are designed to merge with their natural surroundings. Works by contemporary Indian

MAYUR: The entrance block comprises of a reception
area, a café and gift shop. The café offers a range of refreshing brews and delicious
snacks. The gift sells a variety of art and craft items as well as local treats.
CHAMPA, MOGRA AND GULAB BHAVANS: The three residential complexes
comprise a total of fourteen spacious rooms, and have in-room entertainment. Other
services such as laundry and wake-up call are available.
GULMOHAR:
The restaurant specialize in Satvik vegetarian cuisine and delicacies from the
Braj region, There is also a select offering of other dishes.
MORCHALLI:
The banquet hall host private events and dinners.
MAHUA: The outdoor
bar serves an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic and drinks with light
snacks. Musicians perform for the guest's pleasure.
SURKHAAB : The
vintage garage houses three vintage cars, including a 1946 Chrysler Plymouth,
a1918 Model T Ford and a 1938 ten Series III Morris as well as a Triumph 1938
motorcycles.
SHEESHAM: The recreational complex fully equipped gym and swimming pool.
Ayurvedic message and other treatments are available at the spa.
SEMAL:
The learning center has a library where naturalists and historians present slide
lectures and conduct discussions. The amphitheatre is used for yoga sessions as
well as for performances.
The Bagh organizes visits to place of interest
within Bharatpur such as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the old fort, the museum
and the archaeological site at Noh, as well as guide excursions to place within
a two hours radius outside Bharatpur. These sites include Deeg, Bund Baretta sanctuary,
archaeological sites at Sonkh, Bayana, Rupwas and Kumher, the pilgrimage centres
of Brindavan, Govardhan, Mathura, Barsana and of course, World Heritage sites
such as the Taj Mahal at Agra and Fatehpur Sikri.
Tourist
Places in Bharatpur : Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for
its bird sanctuary as well as the temple of Lord Shiva. The sanctuary is considered
ideal for bird watching and wildlife watching. Bharatpur is also the only place
in India where the Siberian Cranes migrate from Siberia in winters.
Keoladeo Ghana National Park: One of the best bird sanctuaries in the
world, It was the hunting ground for the rajas of Bharatpur. It has a wide variety
of exotic birds like the geese from China. Siberian cranes come here every winter.
Bharatpur Palace: The magnificent palace is a fusion of Mughal and Hindu
architecture. It has a museum inside, displaying ancient exhibits.
Lohagarh
Fort: The fort with the iron structure was built by Maharaja Suraj Mal, who
also founded Bharatpur. There are three palaces inside.
Excursion:
- Deeg (32 km): This was the summer resort of the rajas, the so-called second
Capital. It has magnificent palaces and beautiful gardens.
How to Reach: The nearest airport is in Agra, 55 km. Trains connect
Bharatpur with Delhi, Mumbai, Agra and Jaipur. There is bus service to all major
towns. Cycle-rickshaw and tonga are local transport.
